Chief Master Sergeant Seth A. Lininger

Chief Master Sergeant Seth A. Lininger is the Superintendent, of the 510th Aircraft Maintenance Unit…Buzzard AMU, Aviano Air Base, Italy. As Buzzard Chief, he ensures the combat capability of 200 maintenance professionals and 25 F-16C/D aircraft valued at $950M. Chief Lininger oversees all maintenance and sortie generation programs and advises the commander on the morale, welfare, readiness and effective utilization of unit personnel.

Prior to his current assignment Chief Lininger was a member of the 69th Reconnaissance Group bed-down cadre. There he played a central role in the development of the Air Force’s only Block-40 RQ-4B Global Hawk unit, helping to establish its dual role of Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) support to contingency operations across five Combatant Commands.

Chief Lininger grew up in Ontario, Canada and is a third generation military service member. He entered the Air Force in March 1993 as an F-16 Avionics Systems Specialist and has held numerous leadership positions within the Aircraft Maintenance career field. Chief Lininger has taken part in Operations ODYSSEY DAWN, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, SOUTHERN WATCH, and ALLIED FORCE, with deployments to Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the Pacific.
