I was pretty much involved with the 509th FIS, the 510th's sister squadron. We had F-102's. I knew a lot of the guys in the 510th and they were a good outfit. They did a hell of a job when VN got rolling.

Bien Hoa (7AF) - Two F-100 Supersabre pilots of the 510th Tactical Fighter Squadron recently struck an enemy base camp 22 miles east of Cen Tho and caught enemy sampans moving up a canal.
Strike pilots were Major Eugene F. Miller, 35, Perry, GA., and Captain Donald J. Campbell, 32, Phoenix, Ariz., who made bombing and strafing passes on the target.
Bien Hoa (7AF) - Air Force F-100 Supersabre pilots from the 510th Tactical Fighter Squadron scrambled from the Bien Hoa Air Base alert pad recently and destroyed a fortification and bunker complex nine miles northwest of Ben Loi.
Captain Walter T. West, 25, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Major Donald J. Campbell, 32, Phoenix, Ariz., were the strike pilots.
Bien Hoa (7AF) - F-100 Supersabre pilots recently struck enemy targets 20 miles north-northwest of Ca Mau, deep in the IV Corps Tactical Zone.
Major Donald J. Campbell, 32, Phoenix, Ariz., and Major Harrell M. Moore, 36, Finger, Tenn., pilots with the 510th Tactical Fighter Squadron, scrambled from the Bien Hoa Air Base alert pad to batter an enemy base camp with bombs and cannons.
Bien Hoa (7AF) - Wing pilots continued to pound the Viet Cong this week. Three missions flown from here accounted for 131 structures destroyed, 140 damaged, 3 ox carts and 2,000 kilos of rice destroyed.
Two F-100 Supersabre from the 531st Tactical Fighter Squadron and two from the 510th Tactical Fighter Squadron were scrambled off the alert Tuesday morning to hit a VC concentration 95 miles west of Saigon.
