New Buzzard Chief!

CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT SETH A. LININGER

Chief Master Sergeant Seth A. Lininger is the Superintendent, of the 510th Aircraft Maintenance Unit…Buzzard AMU, Aviano Air Base, Italy. As Buzzard Chief, he ensures the combat capability of 200 maintenance professionals and 25 F-16C/D aircraft valued at $950M. Chief Lininger oversees all maintenance and sortie generation programs and advises the commander on the morale, welfare, readiness and effective utilization of unit personnel.

Prior to his current assignment Chief Lininger was a member of the 69th Reconnaissance Group bed-down cadre. There he played a central role in the development of the Air Force’s only Block-40 RQ-4B Global Hawk unit, helping to establish its dual role of Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) and Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) support to contingency operations across five Combatant Commands.

Chief Lininger grew up in Ontario, Canada and is a third generation military service member. He entered the Air Force in March 1993 as an F-16 Avionics Systems Specialist and has held numerous leadership positions within the Aircraft Maintenance career field. Chief Lininger has taken part in Operations ODYSSEY DAWN, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, SOUTHERN WATCH, and ALLIED FORCE, with deployments to Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the Pacific.

Col Robert E Erickson

Erickson 1921~2010 Colonel USAF Retired, of Litchfield Park, Arizona, passed away in Mesa, Arizona on March 10th, 2010.  Bob was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Jan 21,1921 to Robert T. and Marie Erickson. He graduated from South High School and attended BYU and the University of Utah where he played football and basketball.

MG Robert L. Delashaw

Major General Robert Lee Delashaw, U.S. Air Force (Ret.) made his "last take-off" to join up with his maker on February 24, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Whitesboro, Texas on December 20, 1914. He served in the US Navy between 1933 and 1937 and then enlisted in the US Army in 1939. He graduated from flying training in 1940 as a Second Lieutenant and embarked on a fulfilling 29 year career culminating in his retirement in 1969. He always felt he was fortunate to have worked with the best pilots and airmen in the world. Those same people said he was a great leader of men and never asked of them that which he would not do himself.

Gen Ronald R. Fogleman

As a young fighter pilot, Ronald R. Fogleman proved his mettle during two combat tours over Southeast Asia where he flew 806 hours on 315 combat missions.

Fogleman, a native of Lewistown, Pennsylvania, earned an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. After graduating in 1963, he earned his pilot wings at Vance AFB, Oklahoma, and then became a Cessna T-37 "Tweet" instructor pilot and flight examiner.

Lt Col David C. Nichols

Lt Col David C. Nichols was born on 12 March 1959 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 1977, he graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Air Force Academy in 1981. He then completed a Master of Science in Systems Management from St Mary’s University in 1986. He has completed Squadron Officers School and Marine Corps Command and Staff College. He graduated from Air Command and Staff College in May of 1994 and Armed Forces Staff College in September of that year.
