Dearest Mom,
I have plenty to time these days since on quarantine to write, sleep, and read a lot. The dice and cards are working overtime, of course, but I can't see my way clear to wasting my time with such stuff.
We stay in the barracks all the time, and can't get out any except to go to chow. We can't go to the PX next door to buy cigs, candy, cookies, etc (That is a hint.) The only thing good about the whole deal is taht we get to sleep late in the mornings. The thing that makes me maddest is that we might have shipped out of here within the next few days. Now no telling when we'll get out of here.
I haven't had any mail from you in four or five days; so please try to write. Incidentally I would appreciate a small box of fruit, cookies, and candy since we can'nt go to the PX.
Lots of love for you and Louie from
Your Son
Ben
