I was pretty much involved with the 509th FIS, the 510th's sister squadron.  We had F-102's. I knew a lot of the guys in the 510th and they were a good outfit.  They did a hell of a job when VN got rolling.

The 510th had TDY detachments at Tainan and Tahkli during my tour at Clark AB.  That was in 1961 and 62.  I have a picture that I think comes from your web site of one of the F-100's before camo paint...  The colors were a checkerboard of white and a god awful purple around the intake and a purple wing on the vertical stabilizer.  They looked OK, but the purple took some getting used to.

The picture was of A/C 275... I remember that A/C well.  It was crewed by a guy named JB Betterton...  He was a wild child from somewhere in the South.  We shared a lot of San Miguel......

Anyway, that was the old days and it's too bad things have changed so much.  But, times moves on...

Bob Glass
